Hot Tapping Under Pressure: How We Keep Supply Online

Shutting a network down to repair it is often the most expensive option. Here is how live tapping avoids it.

Every hour a pipeline is offline carries a cost — lost throughput, penalty clauses, and the operational scramble of an unplanned shutdown. For many networks the shutdown itself is more expensive than the damage that triggered it.

Hot tapping lets us cut into a live, pressurised line and install a branch or isolation point without interrupting flow. Our Stoppelfitting systems are certified for PN 16+ and installed by crews trained specifically for work under pressure.

The result is a repair that happens around the medium, not instead of it. Supply stays online, the damage zone is isolated, and the network keeps running while the permanent fix is completed.
